Everyone has a bucket list. On my daughter's list, there was both a balloon ride and sky diving. For her birthday, a balloon ride in the skies over San Diego seemed the safer bet. Happy 20th, Taylor!

- In July of 2007, I bought a small inn and left the life I had known for 48 years in San Diego to move to the small town of Mendocino. The 10-room inn sits on a blufftop overlooking the crashing surf and California's rugged North Coast. This has turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
